Test Levels
The
purpose of MDTP testing is to help teachers identify topics and
curriculum areas that their students need further review.
Tests are
available through CSU San Bernardino which measure readiness for the
following various mathematics levels.

The
Algebra Readiness Test assesses preparation for first year
algebra; it can be given at various times during the year before
algebra. |

The
Geometry Readiness Test assesses preparation for geometry and
includes concepts studied in first year algebra; it can be given near
the end of a first year algebra course. |

The
Second Year Algebra Readiness Test assesses preparation for
second year algebra and includes concepts covered in the geometry and
first year algebra courses; it can be given near the end of a geometry
course or the beginning of a second year course. If your
students have not taken a course in Geometry, they should be given the
Elementary Algebra Readiness test to test their preparedness for a
second year algebra course. |

The
Mathematical Analysis Readiness Test assesses preparation for
pre-calculus or other courses at that level; they can be given near
the end of a second year algebra course or at the beginning of a pre-calculus
course. |

The
Calculus Readiness Test assesses preparation for calculus; it
can be given near the end of a mathematical analysis or pre-calculus
course. |

Integrated
Curriculum assesses readiness for the second year and third
year of an integrated mathematics curriculum. These test are
based on the common content of two of the integrated curricula in use
in California |
MDTP
tests can be given at various times throughout mathematics courses. They
may be given near the beginning of a course, part way through a course,
and at the end of the course. Teachers determine when to administer
MDTP tests to their students.
