A polyhedron is (roughly) a 3-dimensional object with flat sides. Each of the sides is a polygon: a flat shape with straight sides. (Check later for more precise definitions.) To do these activities, it will help to have some polygons to actually put together. All the polyhedra here use regular polygons: ones with all sides and angles the same. You can either make your own out of poster board, or buy some plastic ones that snap together, such as Polydrons or 3-D Geoshapes (available from math teacher supply companies).
