TEXT: Applied Combinatorics, 3rd ed. by Alan Tucker.

CONTENT: We will cover most sections of chapters 5 through 7, as well as the material in Appendices 1-4.

HOMEWORK: Problems from the text will be assigned daily, but will not be collected. However, we will have three quizzes consisting of problems similar to the homework. Each quiz will count 30 points, and your lowest quiz score will be dropped. I encourage you to work together on the homework problems, but be careful not to become dependent on someone else's problem solving skills.

EXAMS: We will have two exams during the quarter, as well as a final exam. The quarter exams will each be worth 100 points, and the final will be worth 140 points.

Final: Friday, March 23, 8:00-10:00am

GRADES: The final grade will be determined by total points based on the following scale, with the ``+'' and ``-'' occurring at the upper and lower ends of the scale, respectively:

90-100% A
80-89% B
65-79% C
50-64% D
