Calculus of a Single Variable, 9th ed., by Larson, et al
To learn and use the limit definition of the derivative, standard differentiation formulas, applications of the derivative: curve sketching, extreme value problems, related rates, rectiliniar motion and differentials, and antiderivatives.
1. Quizzes (on most Wednesdays)--20% of course grade
2. Midterms (Fri. Oct. 14 and Wed. Nov. 9) -15% each
3. Homework (due on Wednesdays)--15%
4. Project (a presentation on something you do with a partner, independent of the rest of the class)--10%
5. Final Exam (Fri. Dec. 9, 8-9:50am)--25%
6. There will be no make up tests or quizzes. Organize your calendar now so you don't miss anything.
90-100%--A, 80-89%--B, 65-79%--C, 55-64%--D, under 55%--F
