Polygons, part 1

Group problems

  1. Triangles, squares, and regular hexagons are examples of polygons. Come up with a definition of the term polygon that includes these
    but excludes these: .
The last one is a picture of four joined line segments going up and down in space. If you already know a definition of "polygon" (say, from a previous math book) make up a new definition with a different flavor. Ask me for suggestions if you're stuck.
  2. These figures are convex
(include the interiors of the figures).
    These figures are not convex
(include the interiors of the figures).
Come up with a definition of the term convex. If you already know a definition of "convex" make up a new definition with a different flavor. Ask for suggestions.
